We are gathering to hear about what is happening in Pittsburgh around water use, water quality, and water infrastructure.  Essential to our children’s health, our diets and our homes, access to clean water has been easy to take for granted. Now though, we must reconsider because there are increasing challenges that demand attention and action — threats to water access; potential threats of contamination by heavy metals, infectious agents, and other toxins; and the growing costs of maintaining aging systems needed to protect our communities and our children.  

Please join this conversation, which will include care providers, scientists, advocates, stakeholders, and most important– families and community members!  We will end with a call to action so we can leave the meeting with hope, a sense of common cause, and a plan to move forward.     

This meeting will include simultaneous translation by American Sign Language (ASL) and Spanish language interpreters!

Ya llega la Segunda Cumbre de Justicia Ambiental del Estudio de Pittsburgh (TPS). 

Se llevará a cabo el Jueves, 21 de abril, de 9 am a 12 pm!

Nos reuniremos para escuchar lo que está sucediendo en Pittsburgh en torno a la calidad del agua.  Es esencial para la salud de nuestros hijos, nuestras dietas y nuestros hogares, pero aún así, es fácil olvidarse de su importancia. 

Ahora hay que pensarlo de nuevo porque hay desafíos crecientes en torno al agua: el acceso al agua potable, las amenazas de contaminación con metales pesados, agentes infecciosos y otras toxinas; y el costo de mantener los sistemas antiguos que se necesitan para proteger a nuestras comunidades y a nuestros niños. Únase a esta conversación que incluirá proveedores de atención médica, científicos, activistas y defensores, miembros de la comunidad y familias. Terminaremos con una llamada a la acción para que podamos irnos con esperanza, un sentido de causa común y un plan para seguir adelante.
